A few years back, Pierre Andre Senizergues—the French-born founder of skate brand Etnies—needed a tux for the red carpet at Cannes. He was there promoting Leo's eco-doc The 11th Hour, which he helped finance, therefore his penguin suit had to be (so to speak) penguin-agreeable. His solution? Making one from organic wool, and even using old cassette tapes for the lapels. (They help with shine, apparently.) Now that one-off has inspired a full-on menswear line, called C-Pas. All the clothes are made from organic or reused materials, including wool coats cut from old army blankets and suit linings made from old shirts donated by Senizergues' NYC customers. For now, only clients can get the custom-made suits, but the full ready-to-wear line—including shirting, outerwear, and knits, with suits and tuxes produced by Martin Greenfield—will be available in June at Paris boutique Colette.
